The system is 8-parallel trickle/fixed bed reactor system for carrying out primarily hydrogenation based chimestry with extrudate type catalysts, spherical catalyst pellets or pressed catalyst pellets. Reactor volume is approx. 250 ml. Other types of chemistry are carried out in the unit. The unit is constructed of eight independent fixed bed reactors with individual dosing of theree gases and two liquids per reactor, individual temperature control, with each reactor mounted in a 3-zone heating/cooling oven, multipoint internal 6 x thermocouples in the catalyst bed, a chilled G/L separator on the outlet of each reactor, and independent back pressure control in each reactor. Each reactor features a liquid product collection vessel , and liquid samples from the reactor outlets are automatically collected using a liquid handling xyz robot.
The outlet and inlet streams of the reactors are connected to a multiposition valve cascade wihich is connected to an online gas chromatograph.
